We’ve used fabric covered buttons to make stud earrings for the girls. Let’s make something for the boys today.
Supplies you’ll need:
(Clicking on the item will bring you to where you can buy it in a new window)
- Fabric Covered Button – (see tutorial on how to make Fabric Covered Button yourself) I am using 18 mm cover button made with quarter fabric “Walk through the Forest”. 15 mm cover button is also good for men’s cufflink.
- Cufflink hardware with 8 mm flat glue pad (2 pcs)
- E6000 adhesive or any other adhesives that can bond metal surfaces
- Pliers
Step by step:
Basically the steps are very similar to how you make fabric cover stud earrings. First use a clipper to remove the wire on the back.
Apply adhesive to the glue pad of cufflink hardware. Let dry for 10 seconds.
Stick the cufflink hardware to the back of the cover button. Leave dry overnight in a well-ventilated area. Keep it untouched. The longer you let dry, the stronger the bond. Leave it up to 3 days to cure for best result.
Repeat the steps again to make a pair.
There you go! Get a nice cufflink case and put your freshly made cufflinks in 🙂
