Now that you know how to make Fabric Covered Buttons, we are going to use it to make a variety of accessories. The first to come is Fabric Covered Stud Earrings.
Supplies you’ll need:
(Clicking on the item will bring you to where you can buy it)
- Fabric Covered Button – (see tutorial on how to make Fabric Covered Button yourself) I am using 12 mm. You can also use 15 mm but normally I would not recommend anything bigger than that for stud earrings.
- Earring post with 8 mm flat glue pad (2 pcs)
- Earnut (2 pcs)
- E6000 adhesive or any other adhesives that can bond metal surfaces
- Pliers
Step by step:
Use a clipper to remove the wire on the back.
Apply E6000 adhesive to the earring post. Let dry for 10 seconds. If you are not using E6000 adhesive, you may need to check the instructions of your adhesive.
Stick the earring post to the back of the cover button.
Leave dry overnight in a well-ventilated area. Keep it untouched. I know it’s tempting to check it out but NO. The longer you let dry, the stronger the bond. Leave it up to 3 days to cure for best result. Repeat the steps again to make a pair.
